Millions of jobs depend on trade with Europe. Without it the economy would go further into recession and prices would escalate further. The closer our links with Europe the more of a say we have in the rules and regulations governing trade between European nations, and the more we can ensure these rules work for our benefit, rather than being forced to subscribe to European regulations without any say in what these regulations are. The Liberal Democrats will push to open up trade services in Europe, creating yet further jobs. The Conservatives however want to do the opposite, forcing confrontation with Europe which is bound to weaken our influence in trying to fight for more jobs for the British. The Liberal Democrats will fight to:

• Create More Jobs: working with our European neighbours to create thousands of new jobs by breaking down trade barriers across Europe.

• Make Banks Accountable to Us: We want a strict international regulation of financial services so that negligent banks and a complacent Government can't plunge us into recession again.
